The aim of the project
- Bringing together both expert research dealing with the topic of ‘smart cities’, and policy makers who implement these concepts and approaches;
- bringing about a meeting of different understanding of ‘smartness’ in terms of:
– varying policy fields and agendas;
– different conceptual approaches;
– different place-specific contexts for applying ‘smartness’. - investigating the problem whether the development of ‘smart’ cities and city regions for higher competitiveness is a part of, or alternative to, the idea of a cohesive, sustainably organize and operating society and state territory;
- exploring the problem of acceptance of unevenness in development prospects as the new political/normative reality.
