The new book by dr Joanna Stępień
Prevention is considered the most effective way to improve health of societies, but in practice it faces many barriers that lower its effectiveness. The high status of health in the value hierarchy remains in conflict with the problem of over-mortality of Polish women due to cancer.
The author of the book attempts to answer the question about the causes of
such situation, analyzing the social and spatial determinants of cancer
prevention in Poland on the example of women living in the city of Gdynia.
