Joanna obtained her doctorate degree at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology (Polish Academy of Science) in Warsaw, simultaneously working at the Department of Economic Policy of the Gdansk City Hall. During 2015 Joanna participated in the international exchange programme at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Tokyo. Her main research interests include human geography, urban policy and medical sociology.
