Participation in the conference that was held in Athens, as well as involvement in the work of the working groups, are actions taken recently by the members of our Team involved in the implementation of the COST Action project entitled ‘European Energy Poverty: Agenda Co-Creation and Knowledge Innovation (ENGAGER)’.
The book of dr Magdalena Szmytkowska titled “Creations of the contemporary city: conditions and development trajectories of Polish medium-sized cities” received the second prize in the competition of the University of Gdańsk Publishing House for the best scientific book published last year.
The 1st meeting of the Metropolitan Scienctific Cooperation Network was held in Gdańsk on April 20, 2018 . It was organized by our Department as well as the Metropolitan Institute.
MSc Rafał Gajewski took part in the 2018 Urban Affairs Association Annual Conference which was held in Toronto between 4th and 7th of April. Its theme was: „Shaping Justice and Sustainability Within and Beyond the City’s Edge:Contestation and Collaboration in Urbanizing Regions”.
The new book written by dr. Grzegorz Masik, prof. Iwona Sagan, Jan Frankowski and dr Joanna Stępień was published. Its title is: “Living conditions and social services in Gdynia”.
The conference on „Organization and functioning of urban agglomerations” was held in Katowice on 8th and 9th of March. It was organized by the Local Government Law Department at the University of Silesia. Dr Jakub Szlachetko and Rafał Gajewski took active part in the event.
Between 20-24th of February dr Joanna Stępień participated in the CRESH team meeting – Center for Research on Environment, Society and Health, operating at the University of Edinburgh and visited the Center for Climate Justice at the Glasgow Caledonian University.
The Conference „Spatial Justice in Europe” as well as the workshops within the “RELOCAL: Resituating the Local in Cohesion and Territorial Development” project were held in Barcelona between February 13th and 15th.
Prof. Iwona Sagan took part in these events as a member of the Advisory Board of the project, which is financed by the EU Horizon 2020 Programme.
Between 24-26th of January dr Joanna Stępień participated in the conference entitled “Health: the design, planning and politics of how and where we live”, which took place in Bristol, Great Britain.
